
We called Nu car to let them know we would arrive late. We now were to land six minutes before our scheduled pick up time. We booked early and before we departed the airlines changed our flight times. So we very nervously waited to see what the experience would be. Unfortunately my wife had already completed the rental forms and paid. I read some nasty reviews before we rented from NU car. Go with a company that's honest about prices and deals with customer service in a good-faith manner.

To be fair they did finally refund the $200 after a few dozen email back-and-forths (they absolutely won't let you call or talk to you over the phone, the customer service was miserable to deal with). Nope! I don't know if the woman at the counter was just confused or was actively lying but that $200 was not deductible, it was just more hidden and totally unexplained fees. For me, I was told the quoted price when signing the contract includes a $200 deductible that's refunded once the car is returned.


What's worse: they're not even transparent at the counter about all the fees you'll pay. You'll book with one price online, then face a much higher price when you show up to the counter. Nu Car rentals are not transparent about hidden fees. Avoid! You'll save yourself money and a huge headache using one of the more reputable car rental options in and around the airport.
